Council of the Federation to meet in New Brunswick
 Message from Premier Ed Stelmach
From August 8-10, I will meet with the rest of Canada’s Premiers – known as the Council of the Federation – in New Brunswick. The council will focus on two themes -- energy and climate change. On the energy front, we will review an energy strategy from work that began at our 2005 meeting in Banff. Regarding climate change, Premiers will share information on their jurisdiction’s efforts to address climate change and also explore ways to collaborate and cooperate. I look forward to sharing the results of the meeting with Albertans.

Sheriffs help keep communities safe this summer
While you and your family are on a summer trip or even just dropping into the local grocery store, you may see an Alberta Sheriff in a cruiser or on a motorcycle in your community.
Alberta Sheriffs work closely with law enforcement agencies on joint highway enforcement programs. With invitation from the local RCMP and other local police services, Sheriffs also work in communities to focus on public education and awareness of safe driving practices and to crack down on high risk drivers.
