Happy Holidays!
 A message from Premier Ed Stelmach
While there is certainly a chill in the air, homes around Alberta are coming alive with the warmth of the season. People are coming together with family, friends, neighbours and co-workers to enjoy the holidays.
With the tremendous amount of uncertainty around the world, we are reminded of the many blessings we enjoy as Albertans. During this time of year, I give thanks for our province’s natural beauty, abundant resources and most importantly, its remarkable people.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, from my family to yours.

To improve Alberta’s health system into the future, the provincial government is moving forward on Vision 2020, a report outlining a number of actions to build Alberta’s health system.
There are five goals in Vision 2020:
- providing the right service, in the right place, and at the right time;
- enhancing access to high-quality services in rural areas;
- matching workforce supply to demand for services;
- improving co-ordination of care and delivery of care; and
- building a strong foundation for public health.

These activities will occur over several months, culminating in the Minister of Education’s Student Advisory Council in spring 2009.
