Celebrate Arts Day this Saturday
A message from Premier Ed Stelmach
Alberta will commemorate its first-ever provincial arts day on September 6. We set aside this special day as an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of Alberta’s many talented and creative artists and their many contributions to our province.
The province's thriving arts community demonstrates our strong community spirit and is part of what makes Alberta a great place to live.
Make plans on September 6 to celebrate with others in your area!

Nanotechnology – diversifying Alberta’s economy
While Alberta’s strong economy has been built on traditional sectors – energy, agriculture and forestry – the government’s plan is to create more value-added opportunities to diversify the province’s strengths. Nanotechnology, dubbed ‘the science of the small’, is one such opportunity.
Small or large companies and tech-savvy entrepreneurs that want to bring nanotechnology products to world markets can now access technical and business services thanks to a new leading-edge centre in Edmonton’s Research Park.
The Alberta Centre for Advanced Microsystems and nanotechnology Products (ACAMP) will support the province’s growing nanotechnology sector in three critical areas of commercialization - packaging and assembly; business and product development; and, marketing.
