Experience Alberta's many adventures

Premier Ed Stelmach

A message from Premier Ed Stelmach

With summer in full swing, Albertans and visitors alike are enjoying the many events around Alberta. The province's diverse range of parks, festivals and attractions really showcase our culture - one full of spirit, enthusiasm and adventure.

The unique culture of our province unites us, helps us better understand ourselves and each other, and gives us pride and enjoyment. It allows us to share and celebrate common bonds while building new ones with other Albertans. And these experiences support a high quality of life for all Albertans.

I encourage all Albertans to take time out of their busy schedules to experience all that Alberta has to offer. Our government is proud of Alberta's unique and vibrant culture, and we want it to continue to grow and flourish.

Make decisions now so you are protected in the future

It is commonly misconceived that a spouse or close family automatically have the right to make difficult personal decisions on your behalf if something happens and you are unable to do so. This is not the case. In Alberta, individuals have the option of selecting someone to speak on their behalf.

One simple act

Compact fluorescent light bulbs last 10 times longer and use 75 per cent less energy than a regular light bulb. If every household in Alberta changed just one light bulb to a compact fluorescent, the emissions reduction would be equivalent to removing 6,500 cars off Alberta's roads annually.
